La triste deception <strong>Anthony Bennett</strong> ayant signé hier, les Nets viennent d'enregistrer la signature du vétéran <strong>Randy Foye</strong>.</p>
<p>Peu utilisé à OKC, organisation qui l'a signé en fin de saison, l'ancien shooteur des Nuggets vient s'ajouter à un effectif très limité pour tenter de faire quoi que ce soit pour l'exercice 2016-2017. Une nouvelle recrue qui apportera, par séquences, son adresse lointaine, même si ses belles années restent derrière lui. Le joueur aura 33 ans en septembre prochain.</p>

Cela dit, il est toujours intéressant de se pencher sur le cas de ces types qui ont franchement du mal à faire entrer le ballon dans l'arceau alors qu'ils ont un temps de jeu significatif au sein de leur équipe. On a donc décidé de vous dévoiler le nom des 10 joueurs les plus maladroits de la ligue cette saison, avec comme critères d'avoir joué au moins 45 matches et d'avoir un temps de jeu moyen minimum de 10 minutes.</p>
<p>Attention, un All-Star 2016, deux futurs Hall of Famers et le compagnon d'une star du hip hop se cachent dans ce classement...</p>
<h2>N°10 - PJ Hairston (Memphis Grizzlies/Charlotte Hornets)</h2>

<p><strong>Raison de la maladresse :</strong> Le garçon est persuadé que tout le monde s'est ligué contre lui pour qu'il ne réussisse pas en NCAA (les Tar Heels l'ont viré après deux saisons), puis en NBA. Du coup, il est constamment en train d'essayer de donner tort à ses détracteurs, quitte à s'entêter au shoot... Avec ses qualités athlétiques, on lui conseille de se rapprocher du cercle. A l'époque, ça lui réussissait plutôt bien. <strong>Jerry Stackhouse</strong> peut en témoigner, lui qui s'était pris un poster bien lourd lors d'un match au NC Pro-AM...</p>

<p><strong>Raison de la maladresse :</strong> La médiocrité du roster des Lakers et la volonté de prouver qu'il peut encore être le top scorer de l'équipe malgré son physique déclinant ont poussé le "Black Mamba" à arroser copieusement, quitte à vivre quelques séquences parfois gênantes. Il s'est un peu repris depuis et plus personne ne fait attention à son adresse (pourtant toujours bien basse...) et se concentre sur le fait de lui rendre hommage. Avec 35.6% de moyenne, Kobe est devenu le starter le plus maladroit de l'histoire du All-Star Game en février dernier.</p>

<p><strong>Raison de la maladresse :</strong> On a beau se dire que "The Truth" a toujours du sang froid dans les veines et peut tuer un adversaire dans le money time d'un game 7 d'une série de playoffs, le temps a fait son oeuvre. Physiquement, Pierce a de plus en plus de mal à se mettre dans les positions qu'il affectionne et sa célèbre feinte de tir pour obtenir la faute ne dupe plus personne. Il dégaine finalement peu pour un type qui a un temps tourné à 20 shoots par match, ce qui permet aux Clippers de ne pas trop pâtir de sa maladresse. On le guettera quand même à partir du mois d'avril, histoire de ne pas enterrer l'animal trop tôt...</p>
<h2>N°7 - Josh Smith (Houston Rockets/Los Angeles Clippers)</h2>

<p><strong>Raison de la maladresse :</strong> Alors qu'il a prospéré en jouant assez près du cercle dans les premières très bonnes saisons de sa carrière avec Atlanta, J-Smoove s'est subitement pris pour un jump-shooter de classe mondiale. A Detroit, là où il aurait dû franchir un nouveau cap et devenir All-Star, Smith s'est entêté à prendre des tirs à 3 points ou à mi-distance de façon erratique et volumineuse. Au point qu'aujourd'hui, plus personne ne le considère comme autre chose qu'un contributeur correct en sortie de banc...</p>

<p><strong>Raison de la maladresse :</strong> Mudiay n'était déjà pas considéré comme un shooteur très fiable au lycée et son expérience en Chine lui a davantage profité sur le plan physique et de la maturité que sur celui de l'adresse, tant il n'a pas eu besoin de s'exercer à mi et longue distance lors de son année chez les Guangdong Southern Tigers. En NBA, il lui faut développer cet aspect du jeu puisqu'il ne pourra pas constamment s'appuyer sur ses qualités athlétiques pour devenir un scoreur régulier. Avec du travail et l'enchaînement des saisons dans la ligue, le Congolais a toutes les chances de faire bien mieux.</p>
<h2>N°5 - Randy Foye (Oklahoma City Thunder/Denver Nuggets)</h2>

<p><strong>Raison de la maladresse :</strong> A Denver, Foye s'est rendu compte qu'il n'y avait pas beaucoup de types capables de prendre en main l'attaque des Nuggets. Du coup, il a tenté, tenté et... pas mal loupé, jusqu'à ce que Mike Malone le fasse de moins en moins sortir du banc. A OKC, il fait à peine plus filoche, mais on est encore loin d'une assurance tout risque. Au final, rien d'étonnant, puisque l'ancien joueur des Wolves n'a dépassé la barre des 40% que 5 fois en 10 saisons NBA.</p>
<h2>N°4 - Marcus Smart (Boston Celtics)</h2>

<p><strong>Raison de la maladresse :</strong> Il n'est pas fait pour ça. A terme, Smart deviendra le meneur-défenseur le plus redouté de la ligue et peut-être un facilitateur de talent, à la Ricky Rubio. Mais on ne pourra sans doute jamais lui demander d'être une vraie menace, même à mi-distance.</p>
<h2>N°3 - Nick Young (Los Angeles Lakers)</h2>

<h2>N°2 - Shabazz Napier (Orlando Magic)</h2>

<p><strong>Temps de jeu :</strong> 49 matches joués, 12 minutes par match.</p>
<p><strong>Raison de la maladresse :</strong> Pas évident de trouver du rythme quand on joue si peu, mais il n'a pas réussi à utiliser correctement les minutes offertes par Scott Skiles cette saison. Habitué à énormément jouer pendant des années en NCAA avec UConn (dont il a été le meilleur joueur lors de la saison du titre en 2014), Napier n'est pour le moment pas fait pour se contenter de miettes et d'un rôle de joker. Avec un peu plus de temps de jeu, il aura peut-être une chance de redevenir le shooteur plein de sang froid que l'on connaissait sur les parquets universitaires.</p>
<h2>N°1 - Sasha Vujacic (New York Knicks)</h2>

Plus sérieusement, jouer pour les Knicks avec aussi peu de tickets shoot et dans ce contexte morose n'aide pas à retrouver le rythme. Peut-être aurait-il dû passer un petit coup de fil à son ex pour lui demander l'adresse de son dealer en meldonium...</p>

<p>Au détour des petites annonces postées par les dirigeants NBA, nous sommes tombés sur ce post : <em>"Franchise candidate au titre NBA et bien stressée à l'approche de la Free Agency cherche un meneur gestionnaire capable de shooter, driver et créer du jeu pour ses coéquipiers. Mental solide requis."</em> Après avoir mené l'enquête, nous avons vite compris qu'il s'agissait du Thunder d'Oklahoma City, toujours à la recherche de la bonne formule. Si le cinq d'OKC est l'un des plus performants de la ligue, le banc n'est pas à la hauteur des ambitions de la franchise et <strong>Billy Donovan</strong> n'a pas encore trouvé son quintet idéal dans les fins de matches serrées. Des balbutiements encore une fois mis en lumière, hier soir, <a href="https://www.basketsession.com/actu/russell-westbrook-craquage-315207/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">lors de la défaite rageuse contre les Los Angeles Clippers</a>. Le Thunder a compté jusqu'à 22 points d'avance avant de s'écrouler dans le dernier quart temps. L'absence de mouvement, d'organisation et les mauvais choix ont creusé la tombe d'une équipe pourtant plus talentueuse que son adversaire ce soir-là. C'est clair, cette équipe a besoin d'un autre meneur à associer à <strong>Russell Westbrook</strong> et/ou <strong>Kevin Durant</strong> dans certaines situations délicates. Puis nous avons pensé à <strong>Cameron Payne</strong>.</p>
<p>L'ancienne star universitaire de Murray State correspond au profil. Il a déjà démontré qu'il était susceptible de supporter la pression. A 21 ans, il est jeune, certes, mais a trois saisons NCAA dans les jambes. Il est complet. Il sait alimenter ses coéquipiers en ballons. Il est adroit de loin. Il est à l'aise en pick&amp;roll. Mais où est-ce qu'il joue ? Ah, au Thunder ? Vraiment ?</p>
<h3>Pour Cameron, y'a Foye !</h3>
<p>Lancé dans le grand bain le soir de Noël, le rookie d'Oklahoma City s'était illustré en inscrivant 16 points en 16 minutes. Il avait alors gagné sa place dans la rotation d'une armada taillée pour titiller les sommets. Quelques mois plus tard, il a disparu. Il n'a pas joué plus d'une dizaine de minutes depuis maintenant presque un mois et a même enchaîné deux 'DNP' récemment. Ses dirigeants semblaient pourtant lui avoir témoigné leur confiance en expédiant <strong>D.J. Augustin</strong> aux Denver Nuggets le soir de la deadline. C'était sans compter sur l'arrivée de <strong>Randy Foye</strong>. Plus expérimenté et plus solide en défense, celui qui devait réduire le temps de jeu de <strong>Kyle Singler, Dion Waiters</strong> ou <strong>Andre Robertson</strong> a complètement absorbé les minutes de Cameron Payne.</p>

<p>Sa baisse de régime lui a autant coûté sa place que l'arrivée de Foye. A 21 ans, il reste un rookie et, comme tout débutant, il connait des hauts et des bas liée à son adaptation à une nouvelle ligue, un nouveau système et de nouvelles exigences.</p>

<p>Le natif de Memphis a le coeur à gauche et ses vis-à-vis l'ont vite remarqué, le forçant à pénétrer côté droit. En attendant, Cameron Payne souffre en silence sur le banc. Il prend son mal en patience et continue de bosser dur pour espérer se refaire une place dans la rotation. Après tout, aussi fou que cela puisse paraître, le Thunder aura peut-être vraiment besoin de lui dans les moments les plus importants de la saison la plus importante de l'histoire de la jeune franchise.</p>

Dans sa dernière année de contrat à 3 millions de dollars, l’arrière des Denver Nuggets a été annoncé sur le départ ces dernières semaines. Et d’après les informations d’Adrian Wojnarowski de Yahoo Sports puis enfin de Chris Dempsey du Denver Post, le Thunder et les Nuggets ont trouvé un accord pour Foye en l'échange de <strong> D.J. Augustin, Steve Novak</strong> et deux choix au second tour de la draft. Sur le papier, il s'agit surtout pour OKC de réaliser une bonne opération financière...</p>

<p>Pas vraiment brillant cette saison (6 points, 2,1 passes décisives et 1,9 rebonds de moyenne), le joueur de 32 ans n’apportera sûrement pas grand-chose avec les présences d’<strong>André Roberson</strong>, qui sera bientôt de retour, d’<strong>Anthony Morrow</strong> ou encore de <strong>Dion Waiters</strong>. Honnêtement, avec moins de 30% de tirs réussis à longue distance, Randy Foye ne semble pas être une recrue intéressante. Mais OKC a tout de même réussi à économiser de l'argent (environ 10 millions de dollars en Luxury Tax)...</p>

Régulièrement cité dans les rumeurs de trade cette année, le bondissant intérieur des Nuggets a désormais la cote auprès de son coach qui n'a aucune intention de le voir exercer son talent ailleurs que dans le Colorado en 2014-2015.</p>

Et j’espère bien qu’il sera là », a clarifié Shaw auprès du <a href="http://blogs.denverpost.com/nuggets/2014/04/17/nuggets-shaw-definitely-want-kenneth-faried-back/10294/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Denver Post</a>.</p>
<p>« Kenneth a terminé la saison très, très fort. Nous sommes parfois allés au clash en début de saisons en raison de mes attentes car je suis très exigeant avec les joueurs comme je le suis avec moi-même. Mais j’ai vu beaucoup de choses en lui cette année. »</p></blockquote>
<p>Il faut dire que du All-Star break jusqu'à la fin de saison, Kenneth Faried a tourné à une cadence infernale, devenant le meilleur Nugget sur la période en termes de points marqués (18,8 pts), de pourcentage au tir (54,6%) et de rebonds (10,1). Sélectionné parmi les 28 joueurs qui rejoindront cet été le camp de Team USA, il est aujourd'hui incontournable dans le cinq de Brian Shaw.</p>
<blockquote><p>« Est-ce qu’il est trop petit pour jouer à ce poste tous les soirs ? Oui. Mais est-ce qu’il peut compenser ça en faisant autre chose grâce à un talent spécial et unique ? Oui », poursuit le coach de Denver.</p>
<p>« J'ai vu ce dont il est capable et je sais ce qu'il a dans le moteur. Je sais quand il donne tout ce qu’il et je sais quand il ne le fait pas. Si ce n’est pas le cas, je resterai dur avec parce que nous avons besoin qu’il joue avec cette intensité tous les jours. »</p></blockquote>
<p>Rappelons que Kenneth Faried entrera la saison prochaine dans sa dernière année de contrat de rookie. L'occasion pour lui de faire encore grimper sa cote pour démontrer qu'il mérite un gros contrat à Denver ou ailleurs. En attendant, il fait l'unanimité au sein du vestiaire des Nuggets mais également des fans de la franchise.</p>

<p>C'est toujours douloureux quand un ancien de la maison brille face à vous. Mais quand en plus il se permet de vous poignarder sur un 3 points improbable au buzzer alors que vous aviez match gagné... Les Clippers ont vécu cette situation avec <strong>Randy Foye</strong> cette nuit, sur le parquet de Denver. L'ancien meneur californien a dégainé à très longue distance et en déséquilibre pour arracher une victoire que <strong>Doc Rivers</strong> et ses hommes pensaient acquise.</p>

<p>L'affiche a en tout cas été spectaculaire, particulièrement grâce à deux hommes qui se sont livrés un beau duel toute la soirée : <strong>Blake Griffin</strong> et <strong>Kenneth Faried</strong>. Sur sa lancée du début de saison, "Quake" a fait fort avec 36 points et 11 rebonds. Pour "Manimal", il s'agit davantage d'un réveil, lui qui a mal digéré les rumeurs de trade qui l'ont entouré il y a quelques semaines. Mais le jeune intérieur des Nuggets a finalement retrouvé son vrai visage cette nuit avec un record de points en carrière (28) et 11 rebonds. On regrettera qu'<strong>Evan Fournier</strong>, qui sortait de deux matches autour des 40 minutes, n'ait passé que... 9 minutes sur le parquet face à Los Angeles.</p>

Utilisé 38 minutes par Brian Shaw, le Français n'a pas déçu avec une prestation plutôt complète : 19 points (8/21), 6 passes, 5 rebonds et 3 interceptions. La blessure de <strong>Nate Robinson</strong> a contraint le coach de Denver à confier les clés du jeu à la doublette<strong> Foye-Fournier</strong>. Une option payante, puisque Foye a fini à 33 pts et que Fournier a montré de belles aptitudes à la mène.</p>

"AI" débarque à Oakland dans le cadre d'un <em>sign-and-trade</em> à trois équipes entre les Warriors, le Jazz et les Nuggets donc.</p>
<p>Les Warriors réalisent une économie de près de 24 millions de dollars en expédiant les contrats expirants d'<strong>Andris Biedrins, Richard Jefferson</strong> et <strong>Brandon Rush</strong> à Utah, ainsi qu'un tour de draft. Les Denver Nuggets récupèrent quand à eux une <em>trade exception</em> de 9 millions de dollars. Selon <a href="http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/nba/news/20130708/randy-foye-denver-nuggets-utah-juazz-golden-state-warriors.ap/?xid=si_nba" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Sports Illustrated</em></a>, Randy Foye devrait donc s'engager pour trois saisons et... 9 millions de dollars avec la franchise du Colorado.</p>
<p>L'arrivée du joueur de 29 ans n'est pas forcément une bonne chose pour <strong>Evan Fournier</strong> étant donné que les deux joueurs évoluent au même poste.</p>

Selon <a href="http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--warriors--jazz-and-nuggets-in-sign-and-trade-talks-involving-andre-iguodala--randy-foye--trade-exception-and-draft-pick-071254842.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Adrian Wojnarowski</a>, spécialiste des rumeurs NBA de Yahoo! Sports, les Nuggets, les Warriors et le Jazz d'Utah seraient en discussion pour réaliser un sign-and-trade qui enverrait en échange d'Iguodala, <strong>Randy Foye</strong> et une <em>trade exception</em> à Denver.</p>
<p>En résumé, Iguodala signerait <a title="Andre Iguodala rejoint les Warriors pour quatre ans !" href="https://www.basketsession.com/actu/transferts-nba-andre-iguodala-warriors-118169/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">le contrat de 48 millions de dollars sur 4 ans, qui lui a été promis à Oakland</a>, avec Denver, pour ensuite partir à Golden State, ce qui permettrait aux Nuggets de disposer d'une <em>trade exception</em> de 12 millions de dollars qu'ils pourraient utiliser tout au long de la saison avant qu'elle n'expire. Foye, lui aussi free agent, serait signé par Utah pour 9 millions de dollars sur 3 ans avec une<em> team option</em> sur la troisième année et envoyé à Denver. Le Jazz récupérerait un second tour de draft de la part des Warriors.</p>
<p>Avec ce mouvement, les Warriors auraient suffisamment de salary cap pour signer <strong>Nemanja Nedovic</strong>, leur choix de draft au premier tour cette année, tout en gardant leur <em>mid-level exception</em>.</p>

Et c’est surtout son <i>so clean</i> 5/5 lors du 3ème quart-temps qui a fait très mal au moral des joueurs de Brooklyn...</p>
<p>Sa perf lui permet d’égaler le record de la franchise de 8 tirs primés marqués en un match, record détenu jusque là uniquement par <strong>Jeff Hornacek</strong>, l’actuel assistant coach du Jazz.</p>
<p>Après la rencontre, la réaction du gamin de Newark au <a href="https://www.basketsession.com/actu/retour-sur-lenfance-de-randy-foye-21112/">parcours chaotique </a>(atteint de situs invertus, maladie congénitale des organes inversés et orphelin à l’âge de 3 ans) ne manquait pas de fraicheur et d’humilité :</p>

Elle permet en effet à la franchise de Salt Lake City (8è à l’Ouest) de rester en bonne position dans la course aux playoffs, vu que ses principaux concurrents, les Lakers et les Mavs, ont eux aussi gagné aussi cette nuit.</p>
<p>Et Utah peut dire merci à un <strong>Randy Foye</strong> étincelant derrière l’arc. En prenant feu dans le 3è quart, Foye a permis à sa team de faire le break, terminant la rencontre avec 26 points et un très propre 8/9 longue distance.<b> </b>Après une première période serrée (54-52 pour BK à la pause), Utah a ensuite fait la diff’ en remportant le 3è quart 31 à 20, dont 5 tirs primés de Foye pendant ces 12 minutes. Avec ses 8 tirs primés, l’ancien Clipper égale le record de la franchise en 3pts marqués sur un match, record jusque là détenu uniquement par le cultissime <strong>Jeff Hornacek</strong><b>. </b></p>

<p>A noter que le Jazz de <strong>Mo Williams</strong> (20 points et 4 passes) et <strong>Al Jefferson</strong> (20 points et 7 rebonds) termine le game avec un remarquable 10/17 à 3 points. Mais si l’orgie offensive d’Utah saute aux yeux, leur défense n’est pas en reste : 14 interceptions, provoquant 17 turnovers pour les Nets.<b></b></p>
<p>Toujours privés de <strong>Joe Johnson</strong>, les Nets ont tout de même pu compter sur les belles perfs de <strong>Brook Lopez</strong> (27 points à 11/16) et <strong>CJ Watson</strong> (22, 5 et 4 en 29 minutes) pour rester à hauteur de la team coachée par <strong>Tyrone Corbine</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>Deron Williams</strong>, 21 points (mais à 6/14) et 11 passes, n’a toujours pas gagné contre son ancienne équipe et les habitants de SLC se sont une fois encore appliqués à saluer par des huées chacune des actions du 3è pick de la Draft 2005. Dans ces conditions, autant dire que le joli contre de <b>Gordon Hayward</b> sur D-Will a fait lever d’un bond le public de l’EnergySolutions Arena...</p>

Mais grâce à un <strong>Chris Paul</strong> clutch, les Californiens, qui jouaient leur troisième match en quatre jours, ont mis à 16 la barre de victoires consécutives. La victime du jour était le Jazz (114-116). Les joueurs de Utah ont profité d’un moment de faiblesse des Clippers dans le second quart temps et de leur maladresse (7/23 à 3 pts, 33/41 au LFs) pour se mettre à y croire.</p>
<blockquote><p><em>« On a juste été stoppé, défensivement. Ils mettaient leurs shoots, on a été stoppé, et puis on a commencé à mettre nos shoots »</em>, expliquait <strong>Blake Griffin</strong>, auteur de 22 pts et 13 rbds.</p></blockquote>
<p>Avec 19 pts d’avance à la mi-temps, le Jazz avait de quoi espérer. Mais comme souvent lorsque LA est en pleine galère, Chris Paul (29 pts et 5 rbds) a sorti son attirail de clutch player pour briser les espoirs de Utah. Le meneur est allé chercher une faute à 3.7 secondes de la fin de la rencontre. Derrière la ligne, CP3 n’a pas tremblé et a offert la victoire à son équipe.</p>
<p>Les deux équipes se retrouveront dès dimanche au Staples Center pour une seconde manche.</p>

Six franchises étaient sur le coup (Houston, NY, Atlanta, Dallas, Milwaukee et Phoenix) et c’est finalement le Jazz qui devrait se payer les services de l'arrière vétéran la saison prochaine.</p>
<p>La saison dernière, Foye valait 11 points, 2.1 rebonds et 2.2 passes décisives en 25.9 minutes de temps de jeu en moyenne aux Clippers.</p>
